Mitral valve disease is the second most common valve- related heart disease in adults, with an additional 250,000 new diagnoses annually.
Transcatheter Cerclage Mitral Annuloplasty
Cerclage is investigational device technology helping patients with moderate to severe mitral valve functional regurgitation who are non-surgical candidates, to undergo a fully-percutaneous mitral valve repair. Using interventional techniques, a pathway is established through the coronary sinus, across the interventricular septum, into the right ventricular outflow tract and back into the right atrium. An annuloplasty-like procedure can be accomplished with circumferential tension to reduce annular dimensions.
